Something That Could Last Ashley Cade

They say opposites attract. I never believed that until I met Abby.

I was an Ivy League student, the eldest son of an affluent family, living a life of luxury and rubbing elbows with D.C.’s elite. Sounds great, right? Too bad prestige comes with a price.

When the expectations became too much, I decided to escape to the hills of West Virginia with my best friend for a summer of fun, some R & R and a little white water rafting. I wanted to lose myself in the outdoors, but instead found Abby. A petite waitress and all around spitfire, she knocked me off my game, making me want more than the casual, no strings attached relationships I was used to.

To me, she’s not just another summer fling.

She’s something that could last.

“I’ve never seen you this protective over a girl before. What’s so special about this one?”

I grit my teeth. I don’t want to talk to Luke about this. He’s never once cared about a girl.

Admittedly, I’ve never felt anything like what I feel for Abby, but I’m not a detached and unapologetic man-whore like he is, either.

“Forget it. You wouldn’t understand.” Seriously, I’m not talking to him about my feelings. No fucking way.

“Try me,” he challenges, all hint of teasing gone. The sincere look in his eyes stuns me and I cave.

“It’s just-” I start, but don’t really know what to say. “I care about her,” I finally admit. “She’s not just some hook-up. I want to keep seeing her. Even after we go back home.” Luke nods as though he understands. For some reason, it makes me want to keep going. “I have something real with her. Something that could last. And I want it. I want her. I don’t want anyone else to ever touch her again. To love her. Just me.”

Ashley is an author and book lover living in Ohio with her husband and two sons. She's loved reading since childhood and has always enjoyed creating characters and stories. She finds inspiration everywhere: a song on the radio, a person she passes on the street, a place she's visited on vacation. She lets her imagination run wild and her fingers do the typing.

This is the first book I have read by Ashley and I absolutely adored how she wrote this book with these amazing characters!

You couldn’t have asked for better characters to fall in love. Abby and Jacob are from two very different worlds but that didn’t stop the universe from bringing them together.

Abby worked hard so that she could achieve her dream of going to college! Abby works two jobs to help pay for and achieve her dream And being a zip line instructor isnt all that glamorous. But it helps pay her tuition so that she isn’t in huge amounts of debt. Although her parents aren’t around she is sure to take care of herself the only way she knows. Being Cherokee/Italian Abby knows it’s something to be proud of!

Jacob is the son of a senator and has always had a privileged life to say the least. His parents expect nothing less than for him to be perfect Since he attends a top notch university. He needs to get away from all the pressure so him and a friend of his go on a two week vacation to the West Virginia mountains. Jacob knew he was going to have an amazing vacation with a friend but a brunette that took his breath away was more than he ever imagined.

Jacob eats at the restaurant that Abby is waitressing and knows that this meeting is one of the best things to happen to him.

This was was such a sweet, steamy slow burn romance in a fast paced era but I loved every single word of it! I couldn’t get enough and I didn’t want it to end! I can’t wait to see what else Ashley has in store for this series!

Thank you you so much to Ashley for the free review copy in exchange for my honest opinion!
