Marriage For One Ella Maise

Jack and I, we did everything backward. The day he lured me into his office-which was also the first day we met-he proposed. You'd think a guy who looked like him-a bit cold maybe, but still striking and very unattainable-would only ask the love of his life to marry him, right? You'd think he must be madly in love.

Nope. It was me he asked. A complete stranger who had never even heard of him. A stranger who had been dumped by her fiancé only weeks before. You'd think I'd laugh in his face, call him insane-and a few other names-then walk away as quickly as possible. Well…I did all those things except the walking away part.

It took him only minutes to talk me into a business deal…erm, I mean marriage, and only days for us to officially tie the knot. Happiest day of my life. Magical. Pop the champagne… Not. It was the worst day. Jack Hawthorne was nothing like what I'd imagined for myself. I blamed him for my lapse in judgment. I blamed his eyes, the ocean blue eyes that looked straight into mine unapologetically, and that frown on his face I had no idea I would become so fascinated with in time.

It wasn't long after he said I was the biggest mistake of his life that things started to change. No, he still didn't talk much, but anyone can string a few words together. His actions spoke the loudest to me. And day after day my heart started to get a mind of its own.

One second he was no one. The next he became everything. One second he was unattainable. The next he seemed to be completely mine. One second I thought we were in love. The next it was still nothing but a lie.

After all, I was Rose and he was Jack. We were doomed from the very beginning with those names. Did you expect anything else?

BOOK REVIEW

I don’t even know where to begin with this amazing book. It was such an amazing read. It haven me The feels while also giving me so much more. The characters were so amazing and that makes such a huge difference in A book. Jack and Rose were that couple that you rooted on and kept wanting so much good for them!

Jack was a very uptight, all business kind of man. He didn’t show people around him much about him because he didn’t want them to see him. He wanted to have this hard exterior so that he didn’t get hurt. Until he met Rose at a party. Later down the road everything changed.

Rose is an amazing person who works very hard for what she wants and refuses to take no for an answer. She worked so hard to raise the money to open her own coffee shop until that all came to a halt. Her uncle who had taken her in as a child passes away and she is left with her two cousins who could care less about her But want the property. That is until Jack asks her into His office.

Rose made such such a huge effort with Jack so that he could be a better man and show what an amazing man he could be. And Jack rose to the occasion to show that he could be that better man. Even from the beginning. Rose has no clue why he ever wanted to marry her other than for the property but it was about so much more than just that.

I absolutely loved the slow burn of the love between these two because it showed how much people can change when they want to. It wasn’t such a sweet love and I couldn’t get enough of them.

There was nothing I didn’t love about this book and Ella never disappoints me when it comes to her writing. Every book is a journey and I can’t wait for the next one!!

Thank you so much to Ella for the free review copy in exchange for my honest opinion!
